Comfort

One of the best features of the Janji 5″ Multi Shorts that enhance comfort is the short hemline. The polyester-spandex blend is supportive but slightly stretchy, so it moves with you. The main material of the shorts has excellent mobility, and we never felt constricted or restricted.

While the waist belt carrying system has a capacity of 1 liter, it is very low profile when empty. It wasn’t a problem, even with my backpack strap on. The only source of discomfort with these shorts was the hemline on the inner thigh. We did experience a bit of irritation while wearing these for extended periods of time. We do this until the shorts fit a little, so if you want to avoid this problem, consider measuring.

Strength

The Janji 5″ Multi Shorts balance lightweight performance with impressive long-term durability. After three months of use, we were pleasantly surprised to see no signs of stress or wear on the stretch fabric.

For a lightweight briefcase, these are some of the most durable we’ve seen. While they don’t hold a candle to thick, casual hiking shorts for bushwalking or abrasion resistance, they’re among the best five-ounce pants.

Features

The Janji 5″ Multi Shorts’ features are defined by its high quality waistband. Called Janji’s Multipocket Stashband, this is a great system for keeping things close to the body and out of the way. Adds 1 liter of storage space, perfect for extra gloves, snacks, or a windbreaker.

The front left pocket also features a Nite Ize S-Biner MicroLock clip that keeps keys safe and secure. If you go fast and light and want to keep things close, the Janji Multi Shorts have got you covered.

Dry Time

The Janji 5″ Multi Shorts work best in wet and sweaty conditions thanks to their lightweight, thin fabric and highly breathable construction. Micro-perforated material is a good choice to improve breathability. During hot weather, the material wicks away moisture quickly and avoids the heavy, sticky feeling common to thick, hot hiking shorts.

Even after crossing streams, rain showers, or long efforts in humid conditions, the fabric dries quickly enough to remain comfortable on the move. Although the waistband pockets can hold a little moisture in the lower back and waist when fully loaded, the main fabric dries incredibly quickly and maintains a light, thin-there feel all day.

Weight & Packaging

Weighing in at 4.1 ounces, the Multi Shorts boast impressive weight and packaging. With only a few pairs in our lightweight lineup, these shorts are hard to beat. Thin, recycled fabric keeps bulk to a minimum, giving the shorts a cool, almost-there feel that’s perfect for long miles or high-production efforts.

We used these on a week-long trip, and they disappeared from our bag, almost taking up space. Perfect for travel, backpacking, and any outing where weight and space are at a premium, the Janji Multi Shorts are one of the best on the market.

Should You Buy Janji 5″ Multi Shorts?

Janji’s Multipocket Stashband system on the belt is a great feature that adds 1 liter of bump-free carry next to the body. The four-point extension is great for any job that requires a high level of mobility.

Weighing in at just over 4 ounces, the Multi Shorts are perfect for the weight-conscious traveler who makes every gram count. Although the price tag is not affordable, the Janji Multi Short is a durable, well-designed piece of clothing that will continue to be trusted for many miles.
