The Urban Decay Naked Palette will always hold a place in the makeup hall of fame. And after its limited release earlier this year, people are clearly head over heels for the iconic shades. But let’s be real: most of us with nude palettes have our favorite shades that we hit on, not others. That’s why I think the new Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Sticks are a great addition to the brand’s hero collection.

Naked Eyeshadow Sticks ($25) are cream shadows with a twist in eight shades inspired by the original palette. There is a combination of mattes and shimmers that can be used on their own or as powder shadow bases. Product claims 16-hour wear with smudge-proof, crease-proof, fade-proof and waterproof performance.

Decomposition of Urban Eyeshadow Sticks Swatches From Left to Right:
High, Blurred, Peach Bum, Exposed, Fried, Secret Album, Sinnocent, Tasteful
The shades are very pigmented- the mattes are creamy and full coverage in one swipe, and the shimmers are equally high impact. Four of the five shimmer shades have larger glitters, while What tastes good it has a high gloss finish.
Despite their creamy texture, these shadows set quickly. You have it just enough time to blend the color a little before the movement is gone. I recommend using your fingers, as the warmth can help keep the performance a little longer.

I decided to test these eyeshadow sticks in two different ways: with and without eyeshadow primer. I have very oily, well-curled lids since I’m in my 30s. Generally, the primer ia it should mine.
The Naked Eyeshadow Sticks performed better than the less expensive alternatives, with only minimal build-up and fading when worn without a primer. You can mostly see the dark shade I put on, SinnocentI blinked a little at the inner corner of my eye. But for the most part, it still looks great after 12 hours of wear in 100+ degree Vegas weather!

With primer, these look wearable by the end of the day– just a little bit of fading that wouldn’t be noticeable if you weren’t looking at the side of the photos. With that said, these are very difficult to blend when used over a primer. You don’t have a lot of blending time to begin with, but these set almost instantly over a long-wearing primer like elf Lock It Down Primer. I actually had to go in with a soft brush and concealer to soften the edges.
In fact, if you don’t have very oily lids, you may have skipped the primer and have been wearing bulletproof vests many times. Even with my experience, I can see myself walking right into these just to wear them.

As many of us simplify our makeup routines, Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Sticks captures what we loved about the original palette in 2025. It doesn’t make sense to grab a full palette if you gravitate to the same two to three shades every time. This allows you to spend wisely while maintaining your signature look.
