Everything is in order…
Is it just me, or does it feel like we’re in our ‘planning’ season? Time to declutter, declutter and really grab those everyday bits and pieces? It’s REALLY SINGING to me and it’s something I’ve been working on outfit-wise for the past few months, so over the weekend when I had some free time I took the time to have my biggest beauty declutter to date. What’s left are those things that I wouldn’t hesitate to buy once I’ve used them. Everything is up to date (I hope!) and there are no ‘just in case’ products in there because SPOILER – I don’t end up using it anyway!!! Of course there are still plenty of things I can use everyday because I like a few dewy options, lip options and eyeshadows to choose from, so I pack daily makeup bag* just making getting ready in the morning quick and easy. I like to switch it up every few weeks as my tastes, seasons and my skin change. Here’s what’s up now…
THE FOUNDATION
I really like tinted moisturizers these days. Even though my skin is NOT GOOD at the moment, I love that glow and I can barely feel it on my skin, even on days when I wear more ‘proper’ makeup. So for now MAC Face + Body Foundation in C2*which I reach every day. For concealer I now use two – i Glossier Stretch in Light 2* because under my eyes – it’s the only concealer I like under there as my eyes get so dehydrated – and ILIA True Serum Concealer at 1.75* has a bit more coverage to it, but it’s still really smooth and spreadable so I find it great for my blemishes and psoriasis spots. On the cheeks I don’t really need blush or highlighter yet, I just go in with Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer in Light Medium* which does a little bit of everything in one place. Like seriously, what did I do before this product!? It adds warmth and softness with a little contouring too. If I’m feeling good or recording I can add to Victoria Beckham Contour Stylus in Travertine* ridiculously easy to use and fits like a dream. Such a ridiculous contour product.
THE EYES
I set my browsers in place with Patrick Ta Brow Gel* AS ALWAYS (even though I got a new one Anastasia is another* in the post right now as I thought I’d fix it!). Then I’ll usually use my liquid or cream eyeshadow, but I thought I’d pull out this powder eyeshadow palette that includes the classics like (top left clockwise) – MAC Tete-a-Tint*, Soba*, Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow in Caramel*again Uninterrupted MAC*. Do you remember those!? The tones are very similar to my cream eyeshadows, but I just thought I’d add them to my daily rotation since they’ve been around for a while. I love candy at the moment Recommended Monsieur Big Mascara Waterproof* – another blast from the past. I usually apply and take a clean spoolie around the edges to remove any clumps.
CUPS
Most days I’m just stuck Summer Lip Butter in Pink Sugar* turn it on and call it a day, but seeing ass it feels like it’s been years since I’ve used any other lip product so I thought I’d add Hermes Rosy Lip Enhancer in Rose Tan* in my bag. It’s a very similar tone to the lip butter to be honest, but with a satin-like finish.
TOOLS
I keep my tools GOOD. Mainly because I hate washing my brushes, so every day I only use three. I Westman Atelier Blender Brush* – quite expensive, but I’ve used it every day since it launched in 2019 and it still looks brand new, you get what you pay for with this one. I Beauty Pie Pro Angled Cheek Brush* – The best of Mario Makeup Bronzer – it’s like hugging the cheekbones for a really precise, but easily blended system. Then finally i Makeup By Mario EF2 Brush* which is what I use to apply all my eyeshadow products, regardless of the formula. Oh again Surat Eyelash Curlers* which I’ve also been using for years – nothing else comes close.
