How we choose deals
CNET has a team of shopping experts and bargain hunters who have worked at major sales events for years, making sure you understand when a deal is worth taking advantage of or when it’s worth skipping. Whether it’s Black Friday, Prime Day or Memorial Day, we’ve got the smarts to make sure you walk away with the best deal possible.
To do this, we look at real discounts, quality reviews and the remaining sale time when we choose the offers to show you.
- Real discounts mean the original discounts. We look at the price history of that product to make sure that no manufacturers are raising prices to make the discount seem bigger than it is.
- Quality reviews are equally important for any product, but especially for deeply discounted items. If it breaks the first time you use it, the discount isn’t really worth it.
- Remaining sales time is a big part of our evaluation process. If a deal looks like it will only be around for a short time or will only be available from remaining stock, we’ll let you know ahead of time, so you don’t come back later to be disappointed.
