The NEMO Dragonfly 2 Person Tent is a double-wall (2 pounds, 13 ounces), self-contained tent with good ventilation, two large vestibules, convenient interior storage space, and a convenient height for gear. Quick to set up and reliable shelter from wind and rain. Designed for two people, it can accommodate up to 25″ sharp mother pads and has a classy interior. The Inner Tent

Dragonfly OSMO 2P is fast and accurate to display, and easy for one person to set up by himself. There is one pole with a multi-segment hub, which is good because no small parts will get lost. The colored poles fit into special ball and socket hardware at the four corners, while the inner tent surface is attached to the poles with plastic clips. The color coding seems like a small detail, but it really helps if you have to set up the tent quickly, so you don’t have to figure out which end is which.

The high side of the inner tent is the “head” side, which is good because you and your friend have your heads at the end of the tent.

The black tent’s black ceiling blends into the sky for a clear starry night, while the white mesh side walls provide airiness and privacy. The floor of the deep tub provides additional moisture protection, while the central hub, consisting of rows of horizontal poles, creates almost vertical side walls and a large interior.

While the interior has been reduced from 50″ to 45″ to save weight, the interior space is spacious, especially for one person, with plenty of height (88″) at the foot and head to finally stretch or store personal items. A large, wide front pocket with a tent over your feet provides more space for clothes, while the upper pockets turn your lights into dimly lit tent lights. Corner pockets provide even more accessible storage and are ideal for protecting valuables and sensitive personal items, such as glasses. The lack of internal pockets in light tents is one of my pet peeves, but the DragonFly knocks it out of the park.

Outdoor Tent (Rain Fly)

The DragonFly OSMO 2P has two doors and two open vestibules, perfect for storing things you don’t want inside the tent—like wet boots or backpacks. Each vestibule door splits in half, allowing you to keep your gear under one half while easily entering or exiting one. Multiple tieback points allow you to open one or both halves to let in sunlight and fresh air or close them safely during rain. Bi-directional zippers create a gap between the halves for ventilation while maintaining privacy. Additionally, the kick-stand roof vents improve airflow through the roof.

The rain corners fly on the same corner hardware used to set up the inner tent, making setup a breeze. While it’s good to bend corners when pitching, this isn’t always possible when you have to set up a tent on a wooden platform, which is common in many state and national park campgrounds. You still have to remove the vestibule doors, but that’s usually easier. Having a freestanding inner tent makes pitching a tent much easier, even for one person.

One of the vestibules comes with a waterproof foot called the landing zone, which attaches to the tent and inside 1/2 of the vestibule door, creating a floor in the tub to store shoes or gear under the cover. A useful feature, especially when it rains or the ground is wet. Unfortunately, only one landing pad is included with the tent, not two, and they are not sold separately.

Building materials

The kite is made using NEMO’s OSMO fabric, a poly-nylon composite tent material that is 100% recycled and PFAS-free, which provides long-lasting water repellency, shrinks when wet, and boasts extraordinary strength and competitive fabrics (according to NEMO) at a reduced weight. Unfortunately, it is difficult to quantify the relative advantage of a conventional fabric such as siliconized polyester, which is now widely used in the light tents that DragonFly competes with.

What we can say with certainty is that the rain fly is made of 15-denier material and that the floor is 20-denier, both of which have a little work and require extra caution when preparing the site for sharp stones and sticks before setting up. For added protection, use a homemade fabric like polycryo or an optional 7.7-ounce footprint (sold separately).

The NEMO Dragonfly OSMO 2 Person Tent is a reliable and lightweight option perfect for couples, friends, parent-child pairs, or solo travelers moving from heavy tents. It works well in harsh weather conditions, such as wind and rain, and provides good ventilation and an independent inner tent design. The tent has wide vestibules, ample storage space with plenty of room for large gear and pockets, and simple details like light pockets that split the light from the ceiling. Additionally, its color-coded setup makes dialing quick and straightforward. Its thoughtful design features enhance comfort and convenience, making it a solid choice for backpackers and campers looking for a versatile tent that performs well without unnecessary weight.

NEMO Dragonfly vs. Hornet vs. Dagger Comparison

The 2026 NEMO Dragonfly OSMO 2P offers a spacious, weatherproof and breathable design, perfect for comfort and a variety of conditions. The NEMO Hornet OSMO 2P is light and compact, perfect for fast, mild-weather hikes but it doesn’t have a lot of space. The NEMO Dagger OSMO 2P balances durability and survivability while remaining moderate in weight. Choose the Dragonfly for comfort, the Hornet for light hiking, and the Dagger for reliable, all-around use.
