The Bottom Line
The Fjallraven Keb Agile pants are designed for those who value durability and strong performance above all else. These are tough pants that feel right at home on rock crawls, brushy trails, and long days in unpredictable conditions. These are some of the most durable pants in our hiking pants guide.
Keb’s reinforced knees and curved stretch fabric handle provide a better fit than most lightweight pants while still providing enough mobility for hiking. The heavy material of the pants also provides excellent weather resistance. However, we found the Keb Agile pants to be hotter and less breathable than most hiking pants – even with their zippered side vents.
These pants are best suited for moderate temperatures. For those who put their gear in the most punishing conditions, the Keb Agile is an excellent choice that is sure to withstand long and hard use.
How We Tested
We wore the Fjallraven Keb Agile during 3 months of late winter and early spring conditions in Alaska. Our testing included hiking in variable spring weather – where we experienced cold, snowy, and hot weather. We put the pants through yard work to test their durability.

Comfort & Mobility
Fjallraven is famous for its rugged construction and materials. Keb Agile continues that tradition but in a flexible and mobile package.
True to its name, Keb Agile has increased the mobility of other Fjallraven models. The core material is stretchy and feels like a soft shell. The pockets and reinforced knees feature a higher fabric that restricts movement in those areas. We noticed limited movement with large strides across rocks, but these pants still provide good enough mobility for most outings.
The Keb Agile is not our first choice for rock climbing or other activities with awkward and easy movements. Still, it offers more mobility than other Fjallraven pants we’ve tested and reviewed.

Breathing
Keb Agile has a unique fabric combination that is heavier than lightweight hiking pants, which contributes to its breathability. During our testing in temperatures of 40 to 60, we felt more comfortable in the Keb Agile on cooler test days. When we were exerting ourselves in hot temperatures, the pants felt impressive and retained significant heat.
The zippered vents on the outside of either leg eliminate this problem somewhat, but there is no denying that the Keb Agile breathes less than the lighter weight models. Even though it’s not our priority in warmer temperatures, we still find the Keb Agile breathable enough for moderate to low-intensity activities or colder temperatures.

Weather Resistance
With its thick construction and strong combination of materials, the Fjallraven Keb Agile has excellent weather resistance. It doesn’t have a DWR coating, yet Fjallraven’s G-1000 fabric blend does a great job of keeping moisture out.
These pants do get wet in heavy rain, but they withstand being submerged longer than other pants on our list. Keb Agile pants won’t replace your rain pants but they can handle hiking in bad weather.

Strength
Keb Agile’s highest scoring metric is its extreme agility. We tested them by walking through the thorn and brush, kneeling on the ground, and working in the yard. They are among the most durable pants we’ve tested.
Reinforced knees, inner pant cuffs, and pockets are great touches for high-touch areas. Feeling like a climbing work pant, the Keb Agiles are a top choice for those who prioritize durability. These are the pants you can use when you’re bushwhacking or spending long days at work.

Features
The Fjallraven Keb Agile is one of the richest pants on our list. Each pair comes equipped with four pockets: two hand pockets and two zippered thigh pockets. They forgo the seat pockets found on most American-branded pants, but we didn’t lack for room to carry essentials.
The elastic cuff with metal snap is great for a secure fit over boots. In warmer temperatures or during intense exertion, the zippered breathing holes were a great feature to moderate our temperature.

Should You Buy Fjallraven Keb Agile Pants?
For those who prize durability above all else, it’s hard to get much better than the Fjallraven Keb Agile. Reinforced knees and durable materials make it perfect for anyone who plans to spend a long time scrambling or kneeling on rocks and stones. The trade-off is that they are less breathable and hotter than some of the pants on our list. Even though the zippered leg openings help, these pants can be very warm in the summer.
For us, these are work pants that are hiking or active hiking pants. The Keb Agile is a great choice for anyone looking for a tough, durable pair of pants.
