Design and features

The Sequence Pillar Plus XL 7-Day Pill Organizer boasts a sturdy design designed to slip into your purse or suitcase without spilling the contents. The unit is large at 24 cm by 4.5 cm by 2.4 cm, but the long cylindrical design allows you to cram it into open spaces or seams in your packed bag.

Pillar places and emphasizes sustainability in their products. The basic materials here are a combination of recycled and plant-based plastics that are both non-GMO and BPA free. It feels thick and sturdy, yet weighs only 3 ounces. 7 different colors are offered in a variety of soft pastel hues.

The 2-piece design uses an outer sleeve that slides over the pill container. The small icons for your tablet are lined up on the side of the unit as shown below. This slides into place with an audible snap when closed.

You will open it to reveal the pill parts. Each is lettered for the day of the week, beginning with the “M” for Monday. I believe the purpose here is to be able to load your tablets and supplements, and then you can slide to the next day to get your stuff out without having to remove all the contents.

The biggest selling point of this design is the size. I have dropped a few coins in the pictures below to give you a size reference. Each compartment is 4 cm wide by 3 cm long and 1.7 cm deep, with a lip on the sides to prevent the contents from falling out during opening as long as you use that tablet icon to determine which way is up.

To give you a sense of volume I have uploaded a series of major ingredients below. On the far left you’ll find the standard multivitamins, followed by magnesium powder caps and large Omega-3 gel caps. I can fit about 10 vitamins, 8 caps, and 7 gel caps in these compartments without compromising performance.

Working

The Sequence Pillar Plus XL 7-Day Pill Organizer is a sturdy, well-designed device for sorting and managing your pills and supplements… as long as it fits your use case.

The XL dosage is outstanding if you take a lot of pills every day, especially supplements. I usually have 4-6 servings of supplements that I take daily in addition to my medications. Room sizes are ideal for that assortment with plenty of room to spare.

Posting style slides is a personal matter. I love the fact that you can slide open the dayroom and throw what you need in your hand. Everything else remains safe and secure.

Sequence PillarPlus PillOrganizer 10

If you tend to sort your stuff by pill type, though, I don’t know if this design works as well. You will need to open the compartment to access many compartments in that case, you run the risk of throwing away our pills or pills that you don’t want at that time.

Size may or may not be an issue for some. It’s a big load of pills, but I think the tradeoff of carrying a bunch of small bottles is worth it. It might be overkill if you’re only doing short trips, though.

The building itself is outstanding. No moving parts to fail, tough plastics resist chips and cracks, and strong locking mechanisms make for worry-free transport in my bag.

Final thoughts

The Sequence Pillar Plus XL 7-Day Pill Organizer is a great choice if the simple design, sturdy construction, and large compartments suit your needs. Some may find the 7-day dose limiting for long trips, and the design also doesn’t work if you prefer to organize your supplies in pill/capsule form rather than a daily charge. Although it is a large container I would argue that it is a better alternative for carrying a few small bottles if they suit your use case. If you like everyday slide design Sequence makes a small model that can meet your needs.

What I Like About The Sequence Pillar Plus XL 7-Day Pill Planner

  • Solid, sturdy design
  • Ease of use
  • Plenty of room for a variety of pills and supplements in each room

What needs to be improved?

  • Its large size is not suitable for compact packing
  • The open room design is not suitable for planning in pill form
