Getting it part-time business stylish, comfortable, and budget-friendly clothing can be a challenge. I was hunting for all of the above in preparation for some upcoming work plans, and I was having a hard time until I found gold The Gap Factory (Gap’s outlet store). After trying on many things, I finally found 9 modern workwear basics that I personally add to my wardrobe. They are perfect for casual business wear, but I will also be able to fit them into my weekend wardrobe.
From polished pants and versatile khakis to high-tops and cozy sweaters, these Gap Factory pieces deliver style and value without sacrificing quality. Plus, Gap Factory regularly has sales up to 60% off – I was able to grab each of these for under $40! And keep an eye out for their weekly deals.

Comfortable Stripe Boatneck Sweater
The wide boatneck on this sweater gives it a classy look, but the relaxed fit keeps it cozy and comfortable. If you’re in a freezing office, this will be a favorite! Your average size will probably fit a small box and a large size.

Stretch Jersey Scoopneck Top
A long sleeve t-shirt is an easy wardrobe staple to dress up or down. This is the perfect base to pair with pants and accessories to elevate the look. I would suggest sizing up for a more comfortable fit. My normal size was attached to the waist and upper arms.

Mid Rise Downtown Khakis
If you are busy at work, maybe traditional trousers are not for you. These mid-rise khakis are more than up to the challenge, with a bit of stretch for easy movement but the right fit to keep things classy. They have an ankle fit that pairs well with flats or loafers, and the waist fit is true to size with elastic at the back for extra stretch and compression.

Modern Ribbed Mockneck Tank Top
I loved how these matched, I bought two in different colors! This is a great summer top, and will be easy to layer under a blazer in the fall and winter. It has a loose fit- I suggest ordering your normal size.

CashSoft Ribbed Crewneck T-Shirt
I am obsessed with this faux cashmere sweater sneaker. It has the same luxurious and thick feel, but at a more affordable price. It’s stretchy, although I could actually go bigger as I find this shirt to fit me in my normal size.

Easy Crepe Trousers
It’s been hard for me to find pants that fit well, and these ended up checking all the boxes. At 5’4″, the short length is perfect for me, even in sneakers, and it covers my ankles perfectly. The waist is tucked in while the straight cut legs add a little flow to the look. However, I will warn you against the Birch White shade a lot just. Stick with dark colors. Waist fit is true to size.

Ribbed Pointelle Ruched Top
This one definitely leans on the casual side of business, but it can work in the right colors. I grabbed this top in Black and Serene Blue to pair with khakis and skirts alike. You can literally shop true to size and this will still be comfortable around the waist.

Ribbed Eyelet Flutter Sleeve T-Shirt
I’m a sucker for any kind of catchy sleeve that can make a t-shirt look… well, not a t-shirt. This top has the comfort of a tee but looks more dressy with eyelet flutter sleeves that hold its shape. I personally have grown up in this one, as it was too tight around my waist for my normal size.

Crewneck Cardigan
I it was necessary so I grabbed this hot pink cardigan to add a pop of color to my casual business outfits! A very versatile piece, you can wear it alone as above, or use it to layer over a basic shirt. Tortoise shell pattern buttons add another fun touch to the look. I sized this so there was a little extra room so I could hang it and button it without hacking.
