Hello, I am Dr. Go! Read my introduction to learn more about me and Miki, the cat who made me a cat person.
My cats love to eat, all the time. As soon as I got up and went up to the part of the room where their food dishes were placed, they came, as if they had sent a call without making a sound, suddenly rubbing my legs and crying. They especially like their wet food. And if I go out for the day or go on a two-day trip, leaving them safely locked in the house under video surveillance, there’s no way I can leave enough wet food that won’t spoil or be eaten immediately, rather than saved for later.
Automatic Wet Food Feeders

I’ve heard about automatic kibble dispensers, which can be set to dispense kibble and dry food at regular intervals. However, I always leave enough dry food in the bowls for them to graze at will, and this has done the trick so far. But wet food is a different story. It tends to spoil quickly, and Minnie, being greedy, will do her best to try and clean all the dishes before I even leave the house. Poor Nara and Miki probably just licked off what was left after that. Luckily, Miki isn’t too fussy about wet food, but Nara loves it too.
So, I came across this automatic wet food dispenser, which I must say is a game changer. It has six rooms that each open at a fixed time. This means there can be 6 meals in 24 hours, or as little as one. I got two feeders, one for each kitten, as I knew Miki wouldn’t be very interested, and gave them 4 meals of fresh wet food in 24 hours. There is a place to put coolers under the food container to make sure they don’t get damaged.
What were the cats thinking?

The feeder makes a subtle hum as it flips the top cover, revealing the next portion full of food, followed by a soft beep. At first, both Minnie and Nara were surprised. Then Nara approached and was actually the first to find it. Minnie was there within a minute, just as she heard Nara eating. They just got used to the feeder right away, even now when I’m at home they go to it to see if it’s there, even though it’s not being used. It’s a handy way to keep wet food fresh for a little over 24 hours while still providing cats with a tasty treat.
Miki doesn’t care

Miki’s love for wet food is unpredictable and different from one day to the next. There are several types of wet foods and tastes that he likes, but not all the time. He will often change his mind and flatly refuse something he ate enthusiastically the day before. And since Minnie is a fast eater and moves from one bowl of food to another, it is difficult to give her a chance to eat in peace.
If you ask Miki, the most important thing is that there is plenty of dry food, in many places in the house, so that he can eat when he wants. Among the three floors, he chose the roof as the most desirable place to rest and eat, and this is where I always need to fill the food bowl. He also now likes to use the water fountains, and I often find him drinking from them. He definitely drinks more than the kids, which is because of the food he chooses.
Satisfied Shopping

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase of the automatic feeder. My only regret is that in the summer, it will be more challenging to keep the cooler parts frozen for a long time, depending on the room temperature. Still, it has made my life easier and made sure my cats have full bellies even when I’m not around.
