Chanel has added a new product to their No 1 de Chanel skincare line with three shades of No 1 de Chanel Skin Enhancers ($60 each for 1 fl oz). These are brilliant highlighters that combine skin care and tint in one. No 1 de Chanel Skin Enhancers contains Red Camellia Extract and Red Camellia Oil which are supposed to help rejuvenate and protect the skin.
These can be worn on their own all over or as a primer under foundation. The three shades have a medium texture – not runny/liquid but not too thick like a cream. They have a hydrating feel and a little goes a long way so you don’t need a lot.

I’ve played with these a few ways. The shimmer is good enough that I can apply it all over my face instead of a full glow foundation. When I set with a medium coverage powder on top like Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder or Chantecaille Compact Makeup the result is a natural radiant glow from within kind of look, almost like soft new skin.
I also like to use it as a primer under foundation or mixed with foundation for an extra glow.

There are three shades, Soft Pink is a pearly soft peachy pink, Medium Coral is a white shade, Intense Amber is a very warm golden glow. On my skin which is Chanel B40/BD41/B50/BD51 I would use Soft Pink or Medium Coral alone. I also like two hybrids.
The formula is easy to blend and work into the skin with fingers. One pump is more than enough to cover my whole face. These are more natural in the end but have more coverage with a thicker texture than Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid or Fluid Enlumineur.

Beauty in full dress:
There are many complexion enhancers out there and with the same finish, I would say that the Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter is very similar to how it looks on the skin. Of course the formulas and shades are completely different, but for a light product that I can wear all over my face without looking like a disco ball, I feel these are the same. The Elf brand is for makeup and the shades are closer to the skin tone shades while the Chanel is more absorbent and the colors work almost to highlight the skin with pink and peach tones.
Conclusion: love. I didn’t expect to like these as much as I did as I’m already a die-hard fan of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter and the Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter. Both of those come in skin tones so I wasn’t sure if I would like Skin Enhancers No 1 de Chanel since the colors aren’t really skin tones.

Chanel has a great sense of luxury and adds a soft glow to the skin. The tint in the foundation adds more life to the skin by adding some warmth. I will say that if you have very oily skin these might make you watery.
I reviewed the No 1 de Chanel beauty line a while back here in case you’re wondering what other things I’ve tried from the line. See the enhancements in action here.
