Burberry Runway Eye Palette Review

Burberry Runway Eye Palette ($70.00 / £62.00 for 0.71 oz/20g) is a new and limited edition 9 pan eyeshadow palette with 2 matte, 2 metallic and 5 satin finishes. The shades are pigmented with great color payoff, blend easily and apply flawlessly on the skin. They adhere well even without an eyeshadow primer and apply seamlessly.

I agree that the color story is not what you would expect for the Spring season but I believe this palette is flattering and a collector’s item. It’s the kind of palette that doesn’t care about seasonal colors and can be worn all year round. It’s more of a classic palette, featuring earthy and nude shades but also a pop of color with those gold and copper metallic shades.

The formula is a dream of all three, very smooth, silky to the touch, absolutely buttery for metallics and satin and without causing fallout during application. The shades are not powdery and easy to pick up with a brush (wet or dry) or with your fingers. I personally like to play with this palette and used it a few times before posting this review. In the makeup look section you have just two examples of how I like to wear this palette.

To celebrate Spring, Burberry has chosen to combine its house colors with contrasting finishes in this 9 pan Runway Eye Palette.

PACKAGING

The palette comes in a sleek gold metal case decorated with a gabardine pattern that is also present on the eyeshadows. It looks very nice, simple and eye catching. If you already have the Burberry Essentials Glow Palettes you know what I’m talking about as it’s the same packaging time. It has a large, open mirror inside which is very useful for applying makeup.

Burberry Runway Eye Palette Live Swatches

Here you have swatches of the palette in one layer on bare skin with no eyeshadow primer applied. As I always have LIVE WATCHES on Instagram.

Burberry Runway Eye Palette Shade by Shade Review

Light Camel it’s a medium peach bronze with golden, warm undertones and a shimmery, slightly metallic sheen. It had rich color payoff in one layer while being opaque and easily blendable. It goes on smoothly, evenly and glides easily onto the lid applied with fingers or a wet/dry brush.

It does not cause fallout during application or during aging. I wore it for about eight and a half hours before it started to fade a little on me.

Tan medium tan, brown and soft warm undertones and a shimmery, luminous finish. It had excellent color payoff, opaque in one layer. The texture is incredibly smooth to the touch, almost like a cream to powder. It works well regardless of the application method. I prefer to just use my fingers but you get the same effect using a wet synthetic brush.

It blends easily without causing any fallout during wear. The effect is bright and everything good I can say and it blends well with other shades. I got about nine hours of wear without washing.

Dark Burgundy it is a deep medium burgundy with a brown base and a light shimmery finish. The pigmentation was excellent, opaque in one layer with rich color. It works very well, evenly and without falling out during application. The formula is so soft, smooth and creamy, it’s an absolute dream to play with.

It wore really well on me for about 9 hours without any signs of fading.

Dark Brown it is dark brown in color with warm, golden undertones and light shimmer. It was very pigmented in one coat which was smooth, creamy and very silky. It was easily blended, sticky and applied well regardless of the application method (wet or dry). There was no fall out during application or flaking during wear.

It had semi opaque coverage in one layer, which easily built up to full coverage. On me it stayed for a good eight and a half hours before it started to fade easily.

Vermillion Red it is a medium copper red with warm undertones and a metallic finish. It was rich, pigmented and fully opaque in one layer. The texture was very smooth and creamy to the touch and sinks easily into the skin. I prefer to use my fingers for this shade but you can get the same color if you use a wet synthetic brush.

There was no fall out during application and it stayed good for about nine hours on me without any fading.

Brown medium brown latte and neutral to light, soft undertones with a warm and matte finish. It had good color payoff, opaque in one layer. The formula is extremely smooth and silky to the touch, just a pleasure to work with. It is not powdery at all and does not cause fallout during application.

This shade is easy to work with, blends well and lasts about eight and a half hours on me before it starts to fade a bit. I can create a beautiful, day time, office appropriate look using this shade and a light matte in the pan.

Beige it has a light beige color and neutral to warm undertones and a matte finish. It was very pigmented in one layer to being fully opaque. The texture is soft, smooth and silky to the touch without being powdery in any way. The application went on smoothly, without fallout and was easily blended. It’s a great transition shade and works well with all the other shades in the palette. It wore me for about eight and a half hours.

Burgundy it is a medium red wine burgundy with hints of plum and a sparkling finish. It had excellent color payoff for being opaque in one layer. While the color is rich, the texture feels very smooth, velvety and almost creamy. It works like a dream with your hands or using a brush. You get a bit more pressure when you use it wet but it’s not much different I would say. On me it wore well for about eight and a half hours without changing.

Gold it’s a light, medium gold with a metallic hue. The color is rich, pigmented and opaque in one swipe. The texture feels very creamy, velvety and smooth to the touch. It works really well and shows high intensity when you use your hands but is still rich and opaque when used with a wet brush.

It does not shed or cause fallout during the aging process. On me it stayed good for about nine hours before it started to fade easily.
