Results From Our Xbox Games Showcase 2026 Predictions

June 14, 2026

As always, the crew here at Pure Xbox HQ published our Xbox Games Showcase predictions list a few weeks ago, and as usualwe didn’t get them 100% right. We are not psychics or psychics after all!

Anyway, we thought we’d take a quick look at those that did – 3/8 of them in the end. This also gives us an opportunity to ask about yours predictions and how they went, so please tell us in the comments below.

Here are the results from our predictions for the Xbox Games Showcase:

What We Found

1. “Gears of War: IE-Day To Open Show, Release Date To Be Announced”

Yes, this was there! Gears of War: IE-Day really kicked off the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 this year, and we got a release date of October 6, 2026 in the process.

We didn’t expect the game to be announced exclusively for the Xbox console, which has obviously been dominating the headlines for the past few days. Still, we count this as a successful prediction!

2. “Halo: The Revamped Campaign Will Reappear, With a Summer 2026 Release”

Rumors had been swirling before the Xbox Showcase that Halo: Campaign Evolved was getting a July release date, so it was no surprise when July 28, 2026 was announced as that date.

We didn’t mention it in the predictions at the time, but we also thought that Halo would be getting early access with the Premium Edition, which has since been fulfilled. Again, this was not really a surprise.

3. “New limited Xbox hardware to be shown”

To be honest, this was a new prediction and hope from us! Getting a limited edition controller is one thing, but we were surprised to see that the new limited edition Xbox Series X25 console is coming out this year.

Asha Sharma even went a step further and promised a free console to everyone in attendance at Xbox FanFest LA, which was not something anyone could have predicted (and we’re insanely jealous of those people!).

What’s Wrong With Us

Sorry to say, five of our predictions are wrong this year. We thought some of these were pretty safe bets, like new backwards compatible titles and the reveal of the Elite Series 3 controller, but maybe those are being saved for later this year instead.

“Xbox Finally Unveils Elite Series 3 Controller”
“New Backwards Compatible Games, Shadow May Be Dropped”
“Asha Sharma Brings Back OG Xbox IP For Longtime Fans”
“Banjo-Kazooie Finally Returns to the Xbox Platform”
“New Xbox Edition to be Announced”

It’s great that even though we missed these announcements, we still thought the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 was on all along. It sounds like one of the most hyped events in Xbox history, and if some of these predictions are true do come to fruition later in 2026, they’ll add to what’s already proving to be a busy year for Xbox.
