More tips for making waffle sweet potato burger buns:
- These little waffle makers are perfect for this project. If you want to use a larger machine just use 1/4 cup activated “badder”.
- You can really give the taste but change the type of cheese and spices. Use what you have on hand.
- As a shortcut, you can buy mashed sweet potatoes in the prepared foods section of the grocery store, or frozen.
- As a quick burger sauce, I combine equal parts mayo, ketchup, some chopped pickles and a little pickle juice, and salt/pepper to taste.

Wow this sweet potato recipe tastes delicious!
I can eat sweet potatoes every day and this is a fun and unique way to prepare them! If you somehow find yourself with leftover mashed sweet potatoes this is a great way to repurpose them.
It is a little time consuming to make each individual “bun” in the waffle maker, but overall this is delicious.
