If you’re into small workstations and chic air-cooled rugged monitors, MSI’s new PRO MAX range will be on display at Computex. The manufacturer wants to bring improved beauty and performance in one, and it may well achieve it.
MSI PRO MAX 80 Desktop
The PRO MAX 80 desktop offers a white PS2 vibe, if we’re being honest. But as MSI strives to provide continuity across home and work environments, its new Nvidia GeForce RTX-enabled desktops aim to provide professional productivity. They also offer a range of useful features.
Expect nine USB Type A ports, and USB-C for a host of peripherals and connections, as well as a padlock loop, Kensington lock, and chassis intrusion detection. What information can there be? They are unclear at the time of writing, but there will be BIOS-level USB control including security features.
MSI PRO MAX 24 & 27 All-in-One PC
Key production solutions of the PRO MAX range are 24 and 27 All-in-one machines. These Red Dot Award winners look like something straight out of a high-end studio. Both the 24 and 27-inch models will be powered by AMD’s Ryzen 200 Series processors, based on the Zen 4 architecture. The screens will provide 10-point touch and support for a 120Hz refresh rate.
For a small selection, these tool-free designs will be available in black and white. And MSI’s data sheet talks about maintenance and ease of use. There’s a solid list of core specs here for multimedia and collaboration, too: a 5MP pop-up webcam, built-in speakers, and a 4-way ergonomic stand that offers tilt, height, pivot, and swivel adjustments.
MSI PRO MAX Monitors
MSI also offers two new PRO MAX monitors specifically for Mac multitasking. The first is the PRO MAX QD-OLED Series, which comes as a 27-inch ‘canvas’ and a 34-inch ultrawide. MSI says this will help reduce multiple monitor setups and reduce bezel interference.
The 34-inch PRO MAX 341QPXW14 model will have an improved RGB Stripe design, and the PRO MAX 271UPXW12G will offer a solid 166PPI. The two QD-OLEDs are each Pantone Certified and have a DarkArmor film. So you can expect excellent contrast, color, sharpness, and avoiding distracting light
Finally, the PRO MAX 271QPHW E14 is for premium performance. Its EyesErgo+ Circular Polarized panel is designed to mimic natural light and reduce eye strain. Efficiency is also key, thanks to a single 65W USB-C cable setup. PRO MAX 271QPHW E14 has built-in KVM and native MacOS control via MSI M-Mate.
When it comes to color accuracy and performance, expect Delta E ≤ 2 color accuracy and a fast 144Hz refresh rate. This is the choice for precision and long-term professional use, especially where ergonomic comfort and eye comfort are paramount.
