Full Review
The Temptop LKC-1000S is a 7-in-1 air quality monitor which measures PM2.5, PM10, particulates, AQI, temperature, humidity, and HCHO (formaldehyde). It doesn’t match TVOC; that is an exclusive upgrade to the LKC-1000S+ and LKC-1000S+ 2nd models.

It’s the sensor I use in all my air purifier reviews and the primary tool for testing airborne particle emissions here at Air Purifier First.
The Temptop LKC-1000S is not a device you can put on your desk or shelf to read real-time air quality data. There’s more to the measurement tool than just opening it if you want to check the current air qualitywhich makes it a perfect option for occasional testing.
Types of sensors and accuracy
Temptop LKC-1000S uses Temptop PM300 Laser Particle Sensor (3rd Gen, QSI Laser Diode) and Dart Electrochemical HCHO sensor.
The most important part of this device is the Temptop PM300, which detects PM2.5 particles in the air. It is based on the theory of Mie-scattering and able to detect particles as small as 0.3 µmwhich means that PM2.5 particles (all particles with a diameter smaller than 2.5 micrometers) fall completely within the range of their detection.
As for other readings, PM1, particulate matter, and AQI are calculated systematically based on data collected by the Temptop PM300.
The good thing is that Temptop uses it industrial grade sensor that, according to the manufacturer, it will take a staggering 20,000 hours. This is an impressive figure, especially when compared to the competition.

In addition to this, there is a Dart sensor, which sees formaldehyde levels in the air. This is one of the few air quality monitors that specifically detects formaldehyde.
One thing to remember is that you should not use this monitor for long periods of time in areas with very high concentrations of formaldehyde, as this may damage the sensor and compromise future readings.
It is also worth noting that this sensor sometimes it can react to high levels of benzene, ammonia, ethanoland other chemicals that may be present in the air.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the Temptop LKC-1000S has built-in fan continuously breathing, providing real-time and accurate air quality data.
Overall, The Temptop sensor is one of the most reliable on the marketand that’s why I use this device when testing air purifiers.
Reporting of Measured Data
Honestly, this is where the Temptop LKC-1000S falls a bit behind some competing devices. Not because it displays insufficient information, but because of the way it displays and stores it.
In my opinion, The biggest obstacles are the lack of a smart appthe lack of advanced export options, and the inability to update historical air quality readings.
Show
From Temptop LKC-1000S it doesn’t have a smart app or any other way to read data remotely, all readings can only be viewed on the display.

However, the display is very readablee, it is well laid out, and it shows everything you need. It also has color details that also indicate air quality levels. For example, if the air quality is good, the green box at the bottom of the display will read “GOOD,” and when the air quality is too low, this same box turns purple and reads “IT IS DANGEROUS.”
Overall, the display is quite good, though I’d still like it if Temptop could connect to a smart appsomething like the Temptop M10i, which I tested some time ago.
Other devices that are equally high quality, offer excellent readings, and have a smart operating system include Qingping Lite and Qingping Gen 2.
Cleaning & Balancing
When it comes to measurement, the sensors on the Temptop LKC-1000S come pre-calibrated and ready to use.
However, Temptop recommends keeping the monitor running for eight hours in a well-ventilated area periodically so the sensors can reset and recalibrate.

Actually, Temptop LKC-1000S it does not need to be recalibratedbut if you happen to notice that the readings are inaccurate or inconsistent, I recommend contacting Temptop support. If your device is still under warranty, I’m sure you’ll be able to find a solution.
Design & Build Quality
LKC-1000S data It is made of high quality plastic that is firm but comfortable in the hand.
The device is well designed; black and orange colors go well together, too The LCD is big enough to see all the values clearly. Below the display are the control buttons, which are used for overall control of the device.

What I would like is for the display to be stronger and less sensitive, as I scratched mine in the first few days of use.
FAQ on Temptop LKC-1000S
Does the Temptop LKC-1000S measure TVOCs?
Unfortunately, the Temptop LKC-1000S does not measure TVOCs. It only measures formaldehyde.
What does this air quality monitor measure?
Temptop LKC-1000S shows the values of seven different metrics: PM2.5, PM10, particulate matter, AQI, temperature, humidity, and HCHO (formaldehyde).
Can it be used as a daily air quality monitor?
For that purpose, I can recommend some resources designed to work all day and continuously monitor air quality. The Temptop LKC-1000S is more of an on-demand device that you turn on when needed.
