Sony, Don't Bring Up Fairgames In The Next Gameplay

I don’t want to be that boy, but I’ll give Sony some free advice: don’t, under any circumstances, try to renew Fairgames next month. Play mode.

No matter how good the game looks and how confident you are in Haven’s work, I’m telling you right here and now: not they will go down well.

I really don’t want to make bad seeds, but I’ve been doing this job long enough to know it’s a bad idea.

If a newly registered trademark Come in it’s really a remake of a heist game, and I think the platform holder should relaunch it separately from State of Play.

I know it seems you are crazy to suggest to the publisher should not promote one of its upcoming shows during its next big live stream, but I’ve seen this scene play a dozen times before.

Reaction: Sony, Don't Replay Fairgames in the Next Play 2 Edition

The people who watch your stream are your favorite, strongest players – and they disdain even the slightest sniff of live service. It the will calm down, and it’s not in the best interests of the game.

“But Sammy,” I hear you shout, “everyone hates the Horizon Hunters Gathering, and that was no way to play.”

That’s right! But we all saw the reaction to that game when it was revealed during the random week via the PS Blog; it would have been 1,000 times worse if it was part of a live stream.

I think we all remember what happened with Highguard – it wasn’t that long ago.

Yes, there are casual superhero shooters, but this game has been lost because it had the reputation of being the last announcement Sports Awards.

Now I think it’s an upward rage with that game he did helped it reach impressive one-day numbers; there was curiosity all around.

But the pitchforks were already in demand, and their prime position during the Geoff Keighley awards ceremony made them public enemy number one. It would never recover from that.

I feel for the people at Haven because I’m sure all they want is to make a game that people want to play. And I’m sure he pours his heart and soul into the project.

But PlayStation fans are cruel; Sony has created a culture there only single player games are welcome, and while I don’t think that should stop you from releasing multiplayer games, you have being aware of how they present themselves.

I don’t think State of Play, with its passionate audience, is that place. No matter how good it looks, once fans realize that what they’re watching is a rebranded Fairgames, outrage will ensue. There is simply no way for this.

Reaction: Sony, Don't Reveal Fairgames in the Next Gameplay 5

I honestly think the developer is better off just giving the fans what they want: Marvel’s Wolverine, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, maybe even a new God of War. I think we all naturally know the type of games they like to shoot in Game Mode.

No need to ignore Fairgames forever; just presenting it differently, separately, in a place where it has the best chance of success.

There will still be haters, there always will be – but Game Mode is the death sentence for these types of games now.

That’s the culture that Sony has created in this post-Concord world and you need to absorb it and accept it for what it is.

There is a way to reintroduce Fairgames as well not is setting the internet on fire, but I think it’s silly if it believes that State of Play is that place.

And yes, gaming talk culture and the internet in general is a big fat burner, but this is the climate PlayStation has to navigate. If it decides to bury its head in the sand, well, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
