The decision
Sitting well with your kitchen counters, the LG LDNPM654S FlushFit Dishwasher is a smart dishwasher with plenty of power. It is usually very flexible, with a clean top rack that can move in three positions; however, it would be nice to have a cutlery rack on top and a sliding section for tall glasses. The cleaning performance is excellent, with Steam the option for heavily soiled items.

Main Features
Introduction
Packed with some smart features, including smart controls and the new QuadWash Pro system, the LG LDNPM654S FlushFit Dishwasher is a great dishwasher. Sleek and stylish on the outside, this FlushFit model won’t sit outside your counter, giving you the perfect finish.
More rack flexibility would have been helpful, but other than that, this washing machine covers most of your basics.
Design and features
- Works with LG ThinQ
- Three racks
- A clever adjustable cutlery rack
The LG LDNPM654S FlushFit Dishwasher, as its name suggests, is designed to fit your counter and doors. Just slide it into place, and the clean stainless steel door doesn’t come off, giving it a neat finish.
All controls are located above the door, so it’s easy to set up this dishwasher. There are the standard modes you can expect: Auto, Normal, Hard, and a quick 1Hour option.

There is also a Download option that allows you to add an additional circuit, available through the LG ThinQ app. Using this app is useful, as you get notifications when the washing cycle is over, and you don’t have to be near the washing machine.
For each cycle, there are additional options: Steam adds steam at the beginning of the cycle to improve the washing performance; Dry Boost (two levels) adds thermal drying to the mix; and High Temp increases the temperature of the water for deep cleaning.
The interior of the dishwasher is neatly laid out on three racks. The bottom rack is where the plates and large bowls go.

The evenly spaced tines will take everything from small plates to large bowls, holding everything separately for a thorough clean.
There is also a silverware basket that uses the entire depth of the rack. You won’t need this as there is a top cutlery rack, but it’s nice to have the extra space when needed.

With a high rack, you get flexible space, and the comfortable handles give you three height options, so you can balance the space below and the space above. However, since the top cutlery rack does not have much adjustment, you may have difficulty placing large plates and tall wine glasses at the same time.

LG provides some foldable cans in this rack, as well as handy glass holders, which can be folded up and out of the way when not needed.

At the top there is a cutting area.

I like the slider on the left, which adjusts the height of half the basket, allowing more space for kitchen tools, such as ladles or spatulas. If you’ve ever struggled to fit everything in, this little feature is a lifesaver.

The QuadWash Pro uses high-pressure jets, which LG says provides 38% more cleaning power than the regular QuadWash.

Working
- Cleans well in multiple cycles
- Good operating costs
- The heavy load deals with tough spots.
I tried the LG LDNPM654S FlushFit Dishwasher without all its normal cycles, starting with Normal wash. Here, I found that this costs 15c which is reasonable to use. Cleaning performance was generally good.
Simple things were easy to clean, like dirty coffee and tea cups.
My dirty bowl with the mac-and-cheese in it came out clean again, as did the cutlery I used.
This cycle struggled with a microwaved egg, leaving a small mess behind.
Next, I moved to Auto wash, where the LG LDNPM654S FlushFit Dishwasher automatically adjusts to suit the level of soiling. This increased the cycle to 27c, although the cleaning performance was better with the egg bowl coming out very clean, with a few faint marks on it (other bowls cleaned well).
For Heavy Washes, the cycle cost rises to 48c, with the steam option adding an additional cost. However, the steam option and high temperatures improve the cleaning of the most heavily soiled items, and my egg bowl was completely clean this time, which shows that this cycle is suitable for very dirty items.
Finally, I used the 1Hour cycle, which is perfect for lightly soiled dishes, including coffee and tea cups. This cycle costs 21c to run, so it’s not as efficient as the Standard cycle, but it’s useful if you want to clean dishes quickly.
Should you buy it?
You want a clean, powerful dishwasher
Plenty of space inside, the dishwasher looks tidy when installed and has efficient daily cycles, as well as powerful cleaning options for heavily soiled items.
You need more flexibility
If you need more flexibility inside, look for a dishwasher with a slide-out top, giving you more space below.
Final thoughts
Efficient when you need it, and powerful when you have heavily soiled dishes, the LG LDNPM654S FlushFit Dishwasher is a great choice for busy families. I like the FlushFit design, which helps keep the kitchen organized, and I find the dishwasher to be flexible, although a more adjustable cutlery rack would be useful.
