A memorable week for Buck, Ka-Bar, Leatherman and CRKT brings several amazing releases to the table.
Although, in the end, it’s a form of personalization, celebrations can still be great, especially if they inspire brands to launch celebratory drops of real quality.
Between Ka-Bar’s 125th birthday and CRKT’s 30th M16, that’s exactly what happened this week.
During that time, Buck introduced the classics that were dramatically improved, and Leatherman delivered a remarkable new finish to the first-responder essentials.

Ka-Bar’s USMC Fighting Knife is among the most iconic knives of all time, fixed-blade or otherwise. Now, a special edition of that knife (and three others) has been launched to honor the brand’s 125th anniversary. All are still stunningly designed, boasting full Cro-Van 1095 steel and leather handles, but also get 125th anniversary graphics on the blade and sheath. Most jeans have a fifth pocket. There are two on the front, two on the back and a small fifth inside the front right pocket, originally intended for pocket watches. This Kizer knife is made for that often-forgotten pocket. And while it’s incredibly small, measuring just 5.33 inches when unfolded, it’s also formidable, boasting a Böhler M390 super steel blade, carbon fiber handle, button lock and more.

Baker’s KnivesBuck 110 Slim Heritage Elite
Among the most iconic folding knives of all time, Buck’s 110 Folding Hunter is a legend in its own right. However, it was not completely EDC-friendly. This latest update finally fixes that, offering a smaller profile and a more common pocket clip. But that’s not the only update. This elite knife also upgrades the clip-point blade to the MagnaCut blade, which is arguably the hottest blade right now. And yet it still has the same signature silhouette, ebony scales, back lock and more.

Baker’s KnivesBuck 112 Slim Heritage Elite
Launched alongside the legendary 110 Slim Heritage Elite, an EDC-friendly version of the popular Folding Hunter, the 112 may look pretty cool, but it’s actually already the perfect size for EDC. While the 110 has a 3.75-inch blade, this one gets the size down to 3.0 inches, which is more manageable. And yet, its size increases, giving it a more solid appearance. It also has the same ebony scales, brass bolsters, thin handle and pocket clip. Best of all, it’s very affordable.

Vosteed’s Psyop, a collaboration with TuffKnives, was already a fan favorite of both brands. But this version really sets a new standard. Not only does it have the same killer silhouette, button lock, thumbhole deployment (and front flap) and Elmax super steel, but it also gets a trio of Micarta handle scale options from Current Composites that are more refined and stronger.
