We’ve reviewed and enjoyed several Bob and Brad related massage products. It’s no surprise that a company founded by physical therapists is a leader in massage, but it also offers other recovery products. We had a chance to test out the Bob and Brad Weighted Heating Pad for Neck and Shoulders, and it’s perfect for that post-workout self-care routine!

The Bob and Brad Weighted Heating Pad is very well made. It is stitched with quadrants with ceramic beads all over. These make up for the light 2.2-pound weight the pad offers, but they also do a good job of distributing heat evenly. There are a series of snaps so you can wear it as a small cap on your shoulders. It’s also very comfortable as a blanket, but obviously, since it’s only 20″ x 22″, it’s only for your lap.

A wall plug protrudes from one corner of the pad. The remote control measures about 12ish inches and is easy to use, with only four buttons: up, down, power, and timer. You can set it to 100–145º, and the auto-off can be set to 30, 60, or 90 minutes. There is no option to turn off the timer, so it will turn off automatically no matter what.

Actually, the Bob and Brad Weighted Heating Pad is quite comfortable. It’s soft, and the weight is enough to feel reassuring but not so much that it weighs on your shoulders. Heats quickly and evenly. This has come in handy recently, as we are apparently cycling through all four seasons in a 24 hour period right now. When you turn the heat on because it’s cold, it’s about to get hot again, so the pad was a different solution to forcing my HVAC to switch between AC and heat.

Another advantage is that you can disconnect the power cable and simply use it as a weighted blanket on your shoulders. The Bob and Brad Weighted Heating Pad is lightweight, but with enough pressure to feel like a gentle hug. The weighted pad was a hero last week, when my son was reacting to some therapy that was causing him severe anxiety. He sat with a pad, unburnt, on his shoulders, and while it made him look like he was wearing a short little cape, it legitimately helped him through the worst effects.
