Today, I will compare two of the most popular and often compared small air purifiers.
The Levoit Core Mini is one of Levoit’s best-selling air purifiers. It includes rooms up to the top 72 sq. ft. (6.7 m²)it uses three-stage filtering technology, and has no smart features.
On the other hand, the GoveeLife Mini includes larger, more spacious rooms 78 sq. ft. (7.2 m²). It also uses three-stage filtering technology, but unlike the Levoit Core Mini, it has many smart features.
We compared their performance, sound, power, and specifications to decide which one is the best buy.
Our Decision
In general, Levoit Core Mini and GoveeLife Mini are two small air purifiers, intended for small rooms, that. don’t provide anything variable.
However, in small bedrooms, small offices, and similar small spaces, they can fit well.
Based on all the specifications, test data, and other factors, I can say that the Levoit Core Mini is a better buy.

Performance evaluation – Comparison
Based on their CADRs, we placed these two air purifiers in two rooms of the same size and tested their performance in removing particulate matter from the air.
GoveeLife Mini has CADR 50 CFM (85 m³/h)while the Levoit Core Mini has CADR of 46 CFM (78 m³/h).
In the first test, we placed these two air purifiers in this room 120 sq. ft. (11 m²)where the GoveeLife Mini was able to improve the air quality by 87%while the Levoit Core Mini improves it by 91%.
Particle Removal Test – A Comparison
We put the GoveeLife Mini and Levoit Core Mini to two different tests and measured their performance using a Temptop laser particle meter.
In the second test, this time in a larger room, of 194 sq. ft. (18 m²)the Levoit Core Mini also got better results.
It improved air quality by 89%while GoveeLife Mini does it for you 77%.
Both air purifiers ran 60 minutes at high speedand we used a Temtop laser particle meter to measure their performance.
Another thing I want to point out is that neither of the two has shown to be effective in odor and smoke emissionscaused by lack of proper carbon filter and low CADR values.
Based on the results, I can say that the Levoit Core Mini performed better in our performance tests.
Sound Level Testing – A Comparison
Both air purifiers have it speed of three fans. We tested the noise levels at each speed using a special noise measurement tool.
At very low speeds, the GoveeLife Mini produces a low noise level 40.1 dBAwhile the Levoit Core Mini produces sound quality 41.8 dBA.
Noise Level Comparison
Comparing the sound levels of GoveeLife Mini and Levoit Core Mini at least at high speed.
At high speed, the GoveeLife Mini produces a high level of noise 56.5 dBAwhile the Levoit Core Mini produces sound quality 53.6 dBA.
While both air purifiers are well tuned for sound, I can say that the Levoit Core Mini has been slightly improved.
Operating Costs – Comparison
In terms of energy consumption, these two air purifiers are among the lowest energy users among all the air purifiers I’ve tried.
GoveeLife Mini uses just an engine 8Wwhile the Levoit Core Mini uses an engine of 7W.
If you were to run both air purifiers at their maximum speed, 24 hours a day, for one month, your electricity bill would increase to approx. $0.65 in the case of the GoveeLife Mini, and approx $0.63 in the case of the Levoit Core Mini.
Comparison of energy consumption
Comparing the power consumption of GoveeLife Mini and Levoit Core Mini at low and high speed.
Apart from the energy consumption, there is also the cost of the replacement filter, which should be changed approximately 2-4 times a year in both air cleaners.
Still, the Levoit Core Mini delivers many other third-party filtering options than GoveeLife Mini.
After summing up all the costs and considering the long life of the GoveeLife Mini filter, I would say it is more affordable for annual maintenance.
