This headline is stuck in your heart because everyone – everyone – has multiple tabs open these days. It’s a metaphor for life, with so much going on. But I have many browser tabs open, each with interesting, clever, or useful information that I wanted to share with you, mostly related to programming. I hope you find something here that will make you smile.

Stop buying things you don’t need. The easiest planning advice ever.
Want to share your old home movies? Projector Stream is our favorite solution (with a free first-year deal in the summer). It’s private, shareable, simple, and made for your TV. And it’s just delicious, that’s what my customers say. We can set it up for you if you let us transfer your old movies from VHS, film, and DVDs.
I can’t stop looking at this picture of a derailed train from the second floor of a Paris train station. I only read about the evacuation of Montparnasse in 1895 recently. If it wasn’t written well, I would have thought it was fake news.
Body doubles are nothing new, but they have gone online. Pro editors have been doing it with clients forever. Also called virtual collaboration, working online alone together for a period of time can help you stay focused and get things done if you tend to multitask.
Are Cornish Rex cats the cutest or weirdest cat you will ever meet? I think they are adorable.
I have been using double hung windows incorrectly all my life. Open both the bottom AND top panes of double-hung windows to increase airflow. Or open two separate windows to keep cool with creating drafts.
Speaking of beating the heat, my NAPO-GPC peers have some great advice on how to do just that in this 3 minute video.
Ctrl+Shift+T on PC (or Cmd+Shift+T on Mac) to open recently closed browser tabs. You are welcome.
Ikea’s Billy bookcase is getting a welcome update, which is welcome news if you’re introducing a new person soon.
Then there’s this well-written account of unpacking (probably including a few boxes of Billy’s books), by the lovely Anne Patchet. It’s long, but you can read or listen to the 41-minute audio version.
Do you think you won’t have to separate if you’re just giving valuables from your parents (or your belongings) to a museum? It’s not that simple. Take this short course to increase your chances of a museum saying yes to your values.
Suffering from wanderlust? I stopped getting daily flight deals from AirfareWatchdog.com during the COVID, but I’ve started again, looking at the best PHL-to-Paris flights. Paris is always a good idea.
Comedienne Susan Calman agrees: do you repeat the trip before your trip to make sure the trip is possible? Does it save you time or does it cost you time?
Sequences are a surefire way to change, be more productive, and achieve your goals, whether it’s learning a language with DuoLingo or fitness.
I’m not sure a $700 calendar can save your marriage. Don’t buy another piece of techno-junk if you already have a solution on your phone and tablet. If you need training on how to set up shared calendars that work, please contact us.
I hope this never happens to you…but it will. The CFPB answers the question: What should I do if I am a victim of identity theft?
You own your DNA test results, but if your testing company goes out of business or sells the data, you may lose access to them. Did you know that there are three different types of DNA tests, described here?
And now, the haiku:
Phones are low
Like a tree in Radnor
After the storm
Pennsylvania’s new hand-held cell phone while driving ban, called Paul Miller’s law, went into effect in June, and it’s sad. I’ve already noticed less distracted driving, and I no longer feel the constant pressure to do something at a stop. If you don’t live in PA or one of the 30 other states that prohibit emergency calls while driving, you can still play. Be safe out there folks.
I still have tabs open, but well below 100+ tabs before I can share these nugs with you. If you clicked on any of these, you have my permission to skim and shut up!
Remember to choose a planning project that can be done in August. We like to organize basements because they tend to be cooler, but you don’t have to organize everything. Choose a corner or shelf. Heck, even getting old cardboard boxes out of the recycling can be a big win. Here’s what to change this summer!
