Planning Information from the Experts

I have a high school student graduating next week. Ouch! How did that happen? We are proud of him (understatement), but I am not allowed to show pictures. He is his own person. So, since my attention is elsewhere, excuse me if I step back this week and let you hear from some of my favorite experts and colleagues in our technology sector. Select one or two links to programming information (especially audio) from experts.

Information (paper & digital files, computer & application training, online privacy & security)

I have kept my children off my blog, giving them space to grow without having to play for the camera. Privacy is important to everyone. Philip Griffith interviewed Tammy Copenhaver at the Image Managers conference about steps we can all take to be safer online. Tammy and I are both Certified Privacy Advocates. Photo editing (print, digital, and media, focusing on large projects)

Two of my former Masterclass students are still going strong with their podcast, Interior Image Editing. Susan Wolak and Allison Freeman interviewed several colleagues in San Diego, California. This episode covers everything from visual and digital image editing to virtual reality and everything in between. And you thought we just sorted the pictures to print.

Time Management (Strategies for ADHD, bill paying support)

Did you meet someone who inspired you early on? You’ve probably heard of Julie Morgenstern’s book, Editing from the Inside Out (affiliate link) and her role as Oprah’s editor. Julie and I were on the NPR show together in 2019, and we crossed paths again at the NAPO event in King of Prussia. He is always with good people, except me and Angela. Watch Drew Barrymore talk to Julie about time management: The Drew Barrymore Show with Julie Morgenstern part 1 and The Drew Barrymore Show with Julie Morgenstern part 2.

If you’re wondering how your family and upbringing have affected your relationship with clutter, you’re not alone. If you crave Costco, you’ll want to listen to this 47-minute podcast from On Point titled: A daughter, a father, and a family’s struggle with “American Bulk.”. Emily Mester is the author of American Bulk, Essays on Excess. (link)

Decorating from the ground up, room rearrangements, space plans, color choices

Home stage (busy)

There will come a time when you will need to pack it all up and move out. Your Realtor should be helping you with more than just contracts. They should be connecting you with home games and other important services. Brett Furman of ReMax Classic does a great job of educating his audience about travel. With his top live webinars, you can go ahead and get help with every move, knowing you’re not leaving money on the table.

– Executive Coaching (project management, financial focus, digital skills, productivity training, operational strategy and documentation)

AI is everywhere these days. The more we use it, the more hype and “slop” there is, but it’s starting to become real. So if you haven’t dipped your toe in yet, watch Kevin Stratvert’s helpful video to not only help you learn what ChatGPT can do…and how to do it better. It’s 15 minutes, but I always listen to Kevin at 1.25 speed.

Business Training (MS365, digital notebooks, email training, devices)

Sometimes one small hack can make your life easier. Here are 18 Things You Didn’t Know Your iPhone Can Do. (Numbers 17 and 18 on the list can save your bacon, in the right situation.) Yes, Androids have cool hidden features, too.

I hope you enjoyed hearing from some of the people I consider experts. If we can help you improve your quality of life, please contact us.
