[unpaid/sample] A few weeks ago I attended a yellow themed launch of Absolute Collagen Skin Care. They had just announced Emma Willis as the face of the brand so she was there and it was all very lovely – as the presentation goes, it was one of the most impressive because there was so much attention paid to the details of the decor, the food and the seating (lunch). Launches are not always comfortable to attend but this was comfortable and fun – I stayed longer than I thought I would. Ironically, I was wearing a yellow scarf – a color I have very little of in my wardrobe.
I’m new to the Absolute Collagen brands – I get hooked on a bunch of supplements and it’s mostly anti-aging related so I tend to ignore them unless I’m really curious. You will probably know Absolute Collagen by its ingredients and their entry into the skin care market is new. I’ll take the elephant out of the room first – Lift Deep. I don’t like it all – there are many ways to have an agency, and the funny thing is…Maxine, the co-founder, couldn’t have had anti age if she tried…and this was an opportunity to use their names wisely and it’s missed. Healthy, thriving skin has nothing to do with lifting, deep or otherwise, and I would suggest that there is no topical cream that can create a lift that can be described as deep. There, I will continue.

Clinics (from a top line perspective) look impressive with improvements in skin firmness and hydration. There are other stats that I ignore like hydration (it could be a bad cream that didn’t improve!) and the unreliable ‘89% feel protected all day’ using Deep Lift Day Cream. I don’t know what that means or what questions were asked to verify that statement. Absolute Collagen Skin Care uses Matrixyl 3000 – Matrixyl is a trusted ingredient that is not new but does the job, ceramides, also included, are reliable and Niacinamide is another trusted ingredient. Therefore, the formulas are suitable for reliability and efficiency.

The texture is amazing – I can see a lot of care has been taken with these – the Neck & Dec cream especially sinks into the skin. Simple and comfortable. In fact, they are all comfortable to wear – nothing feels heavy or sticky.

That’s Emma and her co-founder Maxine – both amazing skin care advocates. Both are absolutely brilliant.

In terms of hydration, you won’t have any complaints – in the top line test it is impossible to say if there will be a deep lifting – I doubt it – but I feel confident that in terms of smoothing the skin, giving a radiant glow and maintaining a healthy-looking complexion, all the boxes are ticked. When it comes to price, the Day Cream, Night Cream and Neck & Decollete Cream are all £55 for 50ml but the eye cream is £50 (I haven’t checked that). So, in the middle in terms of accessibility. I know Absolute Collagen has a strong following who will appreciate this range – I love the look of it, the lightness of the packaging, the care taken over the formulation and the reliability of their key ingredients. It’s a masterclass in skin care for older women without a name, but that’s my personal opinion. You can find all the products HERE, including the impressive before and after that made me wonder if I should drink AC.
