Fighting isn’t the best option for AC Mirage, but sometimes it’s unavoidable.
However, things become more difficult when you are facing an armed enemy. The basic soldiers are already hurting. They are brutal, relentless, and do massive damage with each hit.
So, when facing an armored enemy, you also have to deal with the fact that they are more aggressive, have more health, and only deal damage if you hit them in the back.
Unless, of course, you learn how to defeat armored enemies in Assassin’s Creed Mirage in our guide.
Identify the Type of Armed Enemy
In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, there are two types of armored enemies: those with partial armor and those with full armor.
While both only deal damage from back-stabbing weapon attacks, the former is easier to handle, while the latter is more complex.
More often than not, you’ll be dealing with partially armored enemies wielding a large mace. They are challenging and annoying but they become worthless once you learn to deal with them.
However, you will later face a more troubling type of armored enemy. Those who carry great swords.
They are a variation of the previous type of enemy, but their armor also protects their heads and legs, forcing you to be more strategic in your approach.
Defeat Armored Enemies with Knives
As long as you’re not facing a fully armored enemy, use your throwing knives to hit the enemy in the knee. If they fall to the ground, you can eliminate the threat with a finishing move.
It may seem deceptively simple, but there is nothing deceptive about it. Just take the Skyrim meme and make it real.
More often than not, you’ll only need to hit them once. A clean blow to the knee will knock them down.
If the enemy is in that position, you can approach them and see the button to close their eyes for good.
Use Sleep Arrows
Regardless of whether they are fully armed or not, hitting an armored guard in the back with a single sleep arrow will put them to sleep.
Be aware and pay attention to their attack photos. It won’t be difficult to identify when to dodge and when to step in.
However, instead of attacking the weapons, put them to sleep and move in to end the battle. The game will see a button to kill them by pressing one button.
Make sure you get skill points to unlock the Counter Roll skill under the Phantom skill tree.
With it, you can roll over armored guards and land behind them, making it much easier to hit them from behind.
How to Defeat Heavily Armed Enemies
These enemies will not fall for the knee targeting trick. You will need to hit them from behind.
Fortunately, the whirling arrow method works for these enemies as well. However, what should you do with these enemies when you don’t have them with you?
Enemies armed with large weapons use large swords, and their attacks are mostly telegraphed.
Defeating them is a tedious task of waiting for them to turn, block, backstab them a few times, and walk away before they turn.
It’s a tedious, repetitive process, but it’s how you deal with them.
That said, some tools and skills can make this process a little faster, like the aforementioned blowdart. Hopefully, they make fighting a lot more fun too.
Upgraded weapons will likely increase your damage, making the entire battle last a little longer.
More Tips for Dealing with Guards
While all of the above tips may sound good, you won’t always be facing the same enemy. In fact, guards often attack in groups.
When you’re fired from Baghdad, you’ll likely have dozens of enemies trying to capture you at once.
Sometimes, you’ll have to find a way to deal with smaller enemies while avoiding an armored enemy.
Learning to handle multiple enemies at once is essential in AC Mirage. Once the smaller enemies are out of the way, you can better focus on the more threatening guards that want your head.
Upgrade Configuration Tool
Trap is a ridiculously useful tool. It is a non-lethal explosive that can knock down prone enemies for a while. With proper development, it can be made dangerous.
That means, more often than not, you won’t even need anything else. The fact that enemies will be knocked down is more than enough to finish them off.
Also, note that there is an upgrade that makes it whistle. This makes the Trap Tool much easier to work with as you won’t need to rely on a preset Trap timer.
Unfortunately, upgrades can be quite expensive, so you may have to spend some time exploring Baghdad to gather materials.
Use smoke grenades
The Smoke Bomb Tool releases, as the name suggests, a lot of smoke when it explodes.
When it is close to the explosion, the enemies will be confused and hesitate. If they can’t see you, Assassinate guards will appear when you approach them.
While inside the smoke, keep taking down as many guards as you can. This method can significantly change the odds in your favor.
Incendiary Smoke Enhancement is another important thing to consider about your Smoke Bomb tool.
With it, the smoke will catch fire when it meets the flames.
While not all locations will have a fire source, you have a permanent flashlight tool.
Throw a torch near your enemies, then throw your firebomb at them.
Watch out for the Red Powder Bags
From time to time, you will find bags full of some kind of red dust.
Hitting them with your sword or throwing knives will cause them to release a red mist that acts as a basic tool for the Smoke Bomb.
In other words, enemies will be confused, and you will be temporarily invisible, meaning you will be told to kill them without using any of your tools.
Final thoughts
Facing enemies equipped with AC mirage is inevitable. These formidable enemies require a strategic approach that goes beyond brute force.
However, you can defeat them by recognizing the type of armed enemy you are facing and using appropriate tactics.
From the precision of throwing knives to the subtlety of sleeping arrows, you have a variety of tools at your disposal to cripple your enemies.
Unlocking the Counter Roll ability adds a layer of agility to your combat repertoire, giving you maximum leverage in close encounters.
When faced with armed enemies, patience and precision are your friends.
A choreographed dance of evasion, well-timed strikes, and strategic retreats may be difficult, but they are the key to victory.
As you adapt to the challenges of dealing with multiple enemies at once, tools like the Trap Tool, Smoke Grenades, and the mysterious Red Smoke can turn the odds in your favor.
With these tactics in mind, you’re better equipped to navigate the treacherous terrain of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Mastery of these techniques will ensure your survival and elevate you to the status of a True Hidden One of the Brotherhood.
However, it is always good to know the basics and learn how to use the game systems before facing the most dangerous guards of Baghdad.
