This week on Kickstarter? Quilts, Beanies, Umbrellas, UL Pillows, Sleeping Pads and a 3 in 1 Hammock!
I’m always in awe of a new quilt design! However, at 24oz for a 40-degree quilt, these weird toe box synthetic fabrics are quite heavy. Built to be one size fits all, they are intentionally designed to be oversized. Ultra light and large size are 2 incompatible concepts, and although the large size may be good for sitting on the sofa, the large size forces your body to use heat energy in a very large area. The result is a cold night’s sleep.
The Stratus Top Quilt is a lighter version of our most popular product, the Adventure Top Quilt. It has a striking new aesthetic and is about half the weight of the Adventure Top quilt, weighing only 1.5 pounds. It packs down to a compact size of about six to eight inches and includes a water-resistant compression bag.

It’s hard to make a low hat look good, but this Black Rock Gear simulation certainly tries its best to bring the mushroom head thing to the masses! At 1oz, these packable hats are made from 700fp Goose Down. Is the Black Rock Gear hat actually warmer, lighter, and smaller than the Air? Of course. Is the Air still a perfectly usable downlight? Most likely.
The World’s Warmest and Lightest Beanie. RDS Certified Waterproof Shell and Goose Down. Air Defense Shell. All in 1 oz (29 grams).

The Instant Pillow is designed around what UL backpackers have been doing for years: filling dry sacks/bags with clothes to make a pillow. Instead of filling that space with bags of clothes, the Instant Pillow is designed to be filled with air! Think of the Flex Air pillow without the straw. Pillow by night, backpack by day! For $3 a pillow, it’s interesting.
Patent Pending Instantly Inflatable Pillow that can inflate and deflate even in small spaces. No need for regular spraying!

At just over 8oz, this UPF50+ umbrella is designed to be both light and durable. With specs very comparable to the Gossamer Gear and Six Moon Designs umbrellas, if you’re a backpacker flirting with the idea of using an umbrella while hiking, the Tube Auto is worth checking out. Was it designed for climbers? No! Will it work well? It seems so!
The Tube Auto is light and easy to handle, setting it apart from all other standard, heavy automatic umbrellas. Besides its lightness, it also has both good performance and style. In the hustle and bustle of the modern city, the Tube Auto can respond to all kinds of weather changes and bring everyone to their destinations in style and in maximum comfort.

If you’re wondering why this Kickstarter looks so familiar, it’s because the 3-in-1 hammock, groundsheet, and blanket combo cycles on Kickstarter once every few months. Nothing to report here.
Tired of bringing too much or not enough every time you go out? LINK is a versatile blanket that has everything you need to relax outdoors, all in one small package! If there are trees, a hammock, on breezy days you can snap it up next to you. If there is a field or back home on the sofa, a cozy blanket. If you’re traveling, a travel pillow or sheet. Perfect for backpacking, vanlife, festivals, home comforts, or just a day out.

The light? Yes, but with an R-Value of 2ish this 9oz made for Amazon product probably lacks both warmth and comfort.
The ZERO MATTRESS is perfect for camping, lightweight backpacking or backpacking trips. It provides a high level of comfort and a pleasant sleeping experience with low weight. ZERO MATTRESS uses a new method of fabric production, the fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles. It is not only Eco-friendly, but also quiet and durable. Light up your outdoor gear and enjoy nature!
